Smile

If only one of us could receive the love of the world

I would gladly dedicate this place to you

So please—please accept this

This gentle embrace from the depth's of my heart

Find a way to walk where your heart carries you

With a sincere soul

I will pray for your safety

If either of us should proceed the other into the land of death

I would gladly offer up this body

So please—don't be sad

Because you have already brought so much happiness into my life

This heart of mine will be beside you—always

That gentle smile

I will pray that it does not become clouded

Carnival

Your coming home is a deep forest
Your retreating figure blurred by the horizon
The bustling sound of footsteps around town—laughter
Lanterns hung up by the windows
The long festival begins
The trials and tribulations of life…
Your lost smile is a deep forest
I'm being washed away by the streaming crowds
Pulling close your ear
“Let's get away from here.”
I remember sitting, backs against that tree
Starring at that twinkling star high in the sky
“Let's go decorating.”
I remember sitting, backs against that tree
Another sorrowful flame burning at our feet
“Take care not to get too close.”
Your unspoken feelings are a deep forest
The crescent moon of the third
Standing on its tip-toes in the darkness
Hiding in the tall, dead grass
“Well—let's open the gate.”
Our tree over there, its vernal green
With strings of snow like cotton
“Let's drape them from its branches”
Our tree over there, its wounds
Again splashed by the grey rain
“Take care not to lean against it.”
Our tree over there lies in a genial forest
Taking everything off our mind
“Let's rest together.”
“Let's go home together.”
Our festival which no one knows of
A fated festival which no one knows of

The Flowers Return

As you aimlessly roam the world

I look up to face the heavens

My frozen heart trembling

High above the birds migrate away, marking the time

We will come around to meet once more

In a world far removed

Throwing into the frozen town everything that's taken you away

Let's take each other's hands tightly

And race to the place where this long sorrow comes to an end

White—like falling blossoms

The snow continues to pile ceaselessly

Covering the life that runs scarlet red

It just keeps pouring over the silver streets

In my dreams I see tomorrow—a faint fickle hope

The spring-time flock returns

Though they count their tears

They're eternally bound to this cycle

Lamenting their own vicissitudes

Even though these beloved memories of you guide me through darkness

I have to put the sins of the past behind me

(The mistakes of a tarnished soul)

But now—I'm going to live trusting myself

This world has been abandoned by its Creator

Unraveled and fleeting, flowers dancing in the wind

Awakening to the clearing snow—reaching

(They will perish)

Being born, the life of everything, flowers blossom in snowy plains

(A miniature garden)

Small flowers

Ghastly white phantoms, swaying in the wind

(As they are)

Joy (sorrow) shining

(Wrapped up) as time flows

Gift From Western Winds

When Zefiro dances, taking Flora by the hand

Spring comes to visit, turning the Tirenno azure

The bustle of the crowded port, the ships arriving

Tells the end of a melancholy winter

That young man walking around the harbor with colored cheeks

Is probably going home to his love

A gentle breeze blows from the west

Filling the sky serenely

The fish awaken after a long slumber

And softly poke their faces out from between the waves

When Zefiro whispers words of love to Flora

Spring comes to visit, turning the flower buds pink

The bustle of the crowded port, steam whistles flood the harbor

She faces a far-off land, holding on to hope and worry

Her eyes on the earth

But still she does not see the return of the sailor

The Western wind and flowers turn to face a new city

And the swallow delights in the new season

Singing

Sleeping Love

Tears of sympathy spring forth, and one falls

And sends ripples across the water

Even now, the beat of my heart

Is the song of long lost happiness

Beautiful, beloved flower petals

Quivering alone, without a voice

Perhaps I can hide my wounds

Dressing them in a tourniquet of petals

A worn-out heart—a solemnly locked bud

Rest

Dreams of tomorrow drifting in the night

In the bud of a sleeping love

The faint crimson grows transparent

It's time for the flowers to open

And thus love begins to bloom

If I gather together these shattered feelings

The shards will cut me once more

Even if I endure the pain again

The blinding memories still linger

When the color of one's soul fades

The flowers wither away with it

Rest

Holding my chest, the darkness is illuminated

By the moon of the sixteenth

And you, and everything, is engulfed

By the pallid, gentle light

The cage of the night fog sways softly

I sing to myself a lullaby of dear thoughts

So that my heart won't wither away

So that my love won't wither away

Wake up

When dawn breaks it paints the spirals of a beautiful figure

Which fade away on the water's surface

And my mind lets go of the lament

Like a bubble bursting

Wake up
Wake up
